Benches at Disneyland Resort

Benches at Disneyland Resort

Walt Disney wanted a welcoming place for his guests. One thing he loved was having benches around for people to sit and rest on. Especially on Main Street Walt wanted more of a small town feel where people would feel like they were relaxing in a small town. He wanted the “Come on in and sit a spell” feel with spots to actually do so.

In the Esplanade
Some of the Main Street benches have been removed for traffic flow over the years. But, Buena Vista Street and the rest of Disney California Adventure has plenty of benches. You can usually find a bench to relax on for a few minutes and may even find one for a show or parade. You may have a problem finding one in the shade on a hot day as those are prime spots.

What is even more fun is the fact the benches are “themed” to fit the area they are located in. There are some that are a general theme that get spread out through more areas but overall each area has its own design.

The general design is a wood slat with rod iron frame. Cars Land has a cement bench. Paradise Pier has a wood slat with rod iron frame but it is unique to that area. Condor Flats has metal slat benches and the Golden State area around Grizzly Rapids and the Challenge Trail has rough wooden benches.
