When is the Best Time to Visit Disneyland?

When is the Best Time to Visit Disneyland?

Simple answer is ANYTIME YOU WANT! There may be a time that is better for you and your family than others. There may be a time that might not be better as far as convenience is concerned but that you just like better.

Spring and/or Spring Break is a good time to come. The park stays open late for the guests coming to enjoy Spring Break. A few of the rides will be closed for refurbishment but usually not many. The summertime parades, shows and fireworks are brought out to add to the fun. The weather is mild and usually if it rains it will be manageable with a poncho. This is an enjoyable time to go. Be aware the crowds will be heavy during the Spring Break weeks for the local schools.

Summer is an obvious choice of time to come to Disneyland. There will be no rain to mess up your trip and if you are taking your children you don't have to worry about a conflict with school. Most if not all of the rides are open and the park stays open late. This is a fantastic time of year to come to the park. Summer is great unless you have a problem with the heat. It can get over 105 degrees in Anaheim during the summer months. Be ready to deal with long lines for everything from rides to the restroom. Crowds are heavy but Disney does a good job of keeping line moving.

Fall is a fun time to visit the park. With the Halloween decorations and Jack Skellington taking over the Haunted Mansion it is spooktastic. The weather can be fickle at this time of year and you can get rain or 100 degree weather. During the weekdays the park closes early but the crows are lighter than during the summer or spring break. Be aware during the fall and winter months they close rides for annual refurbishment.  Many of the shows have days they don't do them and fewer shows on the days they do them. During the month of October there are days the park closes for the Halloween special event. You can pay extra to go to this event. It includes trick or treating for the kids and a special fireworks show. The fun of doing special events like this is a few hours with shorter lines.

Winter is my favorite time to go to Disneyland. The park does close early but the lines are short. Crowds are light with many kids in school. You just need to check the schedule to make sure you get to see the shows you wish too. Rides are closed on a rotating schedule to maintain them. This can get frustrating for people coming from out of town to enjoy the park. Their favorite ride may be closed for their entire visit.

My absolute not to miss time to visit the park is during the Holidays. From October with its Halloween decor onto November and December with all the fantastic Christmas décor and ride overlays. With Christmas music playing overhead throughout the park this is a magical time at the Happiest Place on Earth. October-December the weather in Sothern California is fickle. It may rain, usually not too much but can be heavy at times and be cold. It may be hot with temperatures in the 90's and up to 100 degrees. Usually the weather is in the high 60's to low 70's and very pleasant.

So, as I said before it is up to you what time of year you come to the park.
