Downtown Disney District at Disneyland
One of the fun and free places to go at the Disneyland Resort is the Downtown Disney District. Here you will find some Disney fun along with some non Disney enjoyment.
There are plenty of wonderful shops in the Downtown Disney District. There is the World of Disney Store with everything Disney. Here you can get things you might have wanted from the parks but forgot to get before leaving. If you did not get into the park you can still get park exclusive items here. There is the Marceline Candy Company with all the wonderful Disney candies and Vault Disney with high end Disney clothing. There are jewelry and clothing stores along with some toy stores such as the Lego store and Build a Bear. Most of the shops are not Disney.
There are fantastic dining options in the DTD. You have everything from ice cream shops to full sit down upscale dining. There is the ESPN Zone and the House of Blues that have a meal and entertainment. You can find most types of foods in this area except chain fast food.
In the walkways around DTD are lots of little carts. These have everything from toys and other fun items. There are even Disney Pin trading stations around the area.
One of the amazing things of DTD is the live entertainment that is all around the area. There are musicians through the area playing music and selling CDs of their music from pop up tables. You will find all kinds of music being played.
There are lots of planters and waterfalls with cement seating around them so you can set and relax a while. There is an AMC Multiplex movie theater if you wish to take a break from the park or wish to get out of the weather.
During the holiday season the DTD area is decorated and all lit up. There is Christmas music playing on the speakers.
If you make a purchase or eat a meal you can get several hours of parking for free. So cone on into DTD and relax and enjoy the fun.
