How to do Your Disney Cruise Line Online Check-In

How to do Your Disney Cruise Line Online Check-In

You’ve booked your Disney Cruise! You joined a Facebook page for your cruise and signed up for Fish Extenders. You’ve reserved your Port Adventures and signed up for Adult Only Dining! You may have started packing or if you are like me, repacking! NOW the BIG day is here!!!! ONLINE CHECK-IN date has arrived!!!!

You can do your Online Check-In as early as 30 days before you sail at 12 AM EST. You should do it no later than 3 days before. Why do it as early as you can? Do it early to give DCL a chance to review the documents and request corrections. Why do it at all? Why not just check in at the port? Doing it online speeds up the boarding process. It also allows you to choose the earliest Port Arrival Time possible! (I like to get on early so I can enjoy brunch and handle anything I need to with Guest Services before we sail.)

What will you be doing during Online Check-In? You will upload your Proof of Citizenship Documents and your Security Photo. You will tell DCL how you will pay for your purchases on the ship, including your Port Adventures booked with DCL. DCL needs to know your travel plans. Are you flying? Have the flight information ready! Do you need transportation to and from the port? If you wish to book DCL transportation from the airport to port and back now is the time to request it. You will end the session by choosing your PAT, Port Arrival Time.

What Proof of Citizenship does DCL require? It is not really DCL it is the Port Authority and Customs that needs to know. You cannot board without proper documents. Make sure to pack these items in your CARRY ON bag!

These are the documents you need for check in:

·         JPEG Photo of:

o   Passport (Both the signature page AND the information page) or Government Issued ID AND Your Birth Certificate.

o   Photo of yourself for shipboard security. Just head and shoulders, no hat, glasses, Mickey Ears, or Big Bows.

·         Travel plans to and from the port. Will you be flying? Airport, Airline and Flight numbers along with time/date.

·         Payment method for your Shipboard Account.

·         Think about what time you wish to board the ship. Last boarding time is 4pm. Early Port Arrival Times are around 10AM with boarding starting around Noon. If you can wait until 4 why pick an early time? MORE TIME ON THE SHIP!! You can grab a drink and sit on the deck and relax, grab a meal in one of the sit down restaurants or head to the buffet, swim, or explore the ship!

Online Check-In is really easy to do. Just go to your reservation on either the website or the Navigator App. You will see a link for doing your Online Check-In. Don’t worry if it says In Process or Under Review for your picture or documents when you finish, Disney needs to review them. It can say that until a few days before you sail. Just check back every so often to see if it says you need to upload a better picture.

Do you want to book a Disney Cruise Line or other Disney Vacation? Let me know!
