Planning a Trip From the USA to Europe in 2024? New Information to Know!
Until now Americans traveling to the EU have not been required to have a Visa/ETIAS. All they required was a Passport. Starting in January 2024 US Citizens will now be required to obtain a VISA/ETIAS along with their Passport to visit any of the 30 European Union Countries. A Visa is a physical paper while an ETIAS is electronically linked to your Passport.
It is a relatively simple process requiring you to answer a
few simple questions. Where are you going in the EU? Why are you going to the
EU? How long will you be in the EU? And you will be required to show proof you
have the financial ability to take provide for yourself during the trip. There
is a time limit of 90 days with a Visa. You may get some extensions but shortly
after you will have to apply for temporary residence.
If you are planning a Mediterranean Cruise or a trip to England,
France, Rome, Italy or any of the other EU countries early in 2024 get ahead of
the game and get yourself a Visa/ETIAS. Start the process now as it can take a
few weeks to a few months. You don’t want to get to the airport to be turned
away because of Passport/Visa issues!
