Disney Fantasy is Now Hands Free at Sea!!
Disney Cruise Line is now testing DisneyBand+ on select sailings of the Disney Fantasy! This started July 29th. If you are sailing on the Fantasy check and see if they are testing them on your sailing! Soon DisneyBand+ will be offered on every ship of the Disney Fleet! For now it is just Disney Wish and Disney Fantasy that have them.
Disney Wish Started trialing them in June 2023 and soon they
will be fleet wide! My guess is next they will be added to the Dream, Wonder
and Magic. When Treasure joins the fleet next year she will have them from day
one as will the Wish and Treasures younger sister coming out in 2025. Disney
Cruise Line does have an 8th and larger ship coming out in 2025 as
well. Not many details have been released on the ship.
What are DisneyBand+? It is a rebranding of the Disney Parks MagicBand+. If you already have a Disney Parks MagicBand+ it will automatically link to your DCL Navigator App. What will they do? Much the same as the MagicBand+ Does in the parks. DisneyBand+ will remind you of shows, events and mealtimes you have asked it to alert to. It will light up and interact with shows and areas of the ship making the environment more immersive. They will unlock your cabin door. You can use them to charge things to you cabin using the DisneyBand+. At this time you will need your Key to the World Card to bord and disembark the ship.
How do you purchase a DisneyBand+? It is simple. You have 4 choices.
Use a MagicBand+ you already have for the parks.
You can order a MagicBand+ from Shop Disney online. This
will be one of the general styles you can get in the parks. It is not DCL
specific. These will work on the ship. You can use a MagicBand+ that you already
have as well.
You can preorder from DCL 45-11 days before you sail. I’d
order it earlier to make sure there is time for delivery. Preordering from DCL
saves you $10 per band and there is free shipping. These are DCL specific
designs.
You can wait and purchase the bands on the ship. You will
pay full price, minus any discount you may have with Castaway Club or Credit
Card. Never as good a deal as $10 off each band.
