You Booked Your First Disney Cruise!!!

Don’t Panic! NOW BREATH!! It’s ok!!

It is so easy to get overwhelmed when checking out a new travel destination. Disney Cruise Lines are no different and in reality, it can actually be more intimidating than most. IT’S OK!! You don’t have to do EVERYTHING!

What exactly does everybody stress about! Facebook Cruising Pages, Fish Extenders, Cruising Ducks, Booking Adventures, Booking Tastings, will everybody be entertained, is there enough to do.

Ok let’s break this down, remember BREATH!!!! Let me help by giving you some information on some of the things that can stress you out.

Facebook Cruise Pages:

Simply put this is a page specific to YOUR cruise date. Another Guest on the cruise chose to start the page so those sailing could get to know each other, and the fun begin. I believe these pages are a great help to the first-time cruiser as most welcome a lot of questions. This is where you will join a Fish Extender exchange if you desire.

To find your specific Cruise Group Facebook Page just type in the Facebook search bar the name of your ship and the date of the sailing. For example, Disney Wonder November 17, 2022.

Do you really need to join it? NO!! But it is informative, fun and a great way to make friends before sailing! Sailing with littles or not so littles (teens &18-20) how about getting them started as pen pals with others their age! This way then have friends on the ship.

Fish Extender:

This is fun and easy. Someone on your Facebook Page will take responsibility for setting up an exchange. They can be for:

·         Cabin/Family, no matter if there are adult or children in the cabin

·         Adult to Adult only, only adults are receiving the exchange in the cabin.

·         Recipe Exchange.

·         Ornament Exchange.

You can choose not to join or join several groups! The choice is up to you!

Gifts can be store bought, 99 cent store goodies, or homemade (just not food items.) It can be Disney themed or not. It can be practical or silly. We have gotten wooden clothes that they wrote the name of the ship on, mini first aid kit with bandages and alcohol wipes, sewing kits, really you name it you can do it!

Cruising Ducks:

To find out more about Cruising Ducks search the Facebook page for Disney Cruising Ducks.

This is a fun Duck Hunt. People take rubber duckies and hide them around the ship! They are tagged with who hid it and the simple rule Keep or Hide You Decide! You can even keep it to take on your NEXT cruise to hide!!

Booking Activities:

We all want to make sure we have fun doing the adventures on and off the ship that we wish to. Honestly, they do fill up fast so if you see something you REALLY want to do I highly recommend getting up on the first day you can book things and do so. Don’t be to upset if you don’t get it. Keep checking back to see if someone cancels. Also, you can try again once you get on the ship. Tastings, Palo and other Adult Dining are also high demand tickets.

Is there enough Entertainment:

There is a LOT of entertainment on the ship! In fact, there is so much it is impossible to do it all! There is entertainment in some of the restaurants every night! The kids are kept active in the Kids Clubs. There are movies on the deck and in the theaters! You have a live stage show or deck party every evening. There is music, dancing, and adult entertainment late into the evenings.

Do I HAVE to get off the ship in ports we visit:

NO!! Most of the time we stay on the ship! We take the port time as a time to explore the ship, swim, soak in the hot tub or watch a movie. Friends and Family ask where we went on our cruise. Our answer is on the ship at sea!

I highly encourage you to check out what adventures await in each port well before your cruise and look at all of them. Are any of them a MUST DO?? If so, GO FOR IT!!!

Do you HAVE to do Adult Dining:

No but it is sure FUN! The adult restaurants are priced differently Palo is $45 per person and you MUST have a reservation! Remy is on the Dream and Fantasy and prices can run the range of $75-$150 or so per person, then add wine! The Wish has Palo Steakhouse and instead of Remy they have Enchante. Currently I do not have any pricing.

I highly suggest skipping Adult Dining for dinner for first time cruisers. You should experience all the main restaurants first. The Main Restaurants are amazing and really, I do not think they should be missed. If you can get Brunch at Palo, I do encourage you do so! Pre Pandemic Palo Brunch was an all you can eat buffet that includes one glass of choice of Champagne, Mimosa, or Sparkling nonalcoholic Cider.
