Disney Cruise Line Luggage Tags

Disney Cruise Line Luggage Tags

When you sail on Disney Cruise Line you get Luggage Tags to put on your luggage when you board. Disney Cruise Line changed the luggage tags in January of this year. They are all uniform and are color coded by ship.  Here is the information you might want to know.

Here is a picture of what the Destiny Luggage Tag looks like:

  1. Indicates location of Cabin Forward/Midship/Aft
  2. Cabin Number
  3. Ship Name
  4. Cabin Number and Location
  5. Guests Names
  6. Sail Date

You should receive your tags in the mail between 35 and 50 days prior to your cruise. If you do not receive your tags do not worry DCL will have Generic Tags you can ask for when you get to the port. If you do not receive enough tags, these Generic Tags are options as well. For our November 2025 cruise we received 1 tag per guest. I highly recommend getting DCL Luggage Tag Holders off of Amazon. You just slip your tags inside of them.

Lets talk about how to use the tags. Do not put the tags on your luggage until you are headed to the Port Terminal. They are not intended for the Airport, Disney Resorts or other Hotels. Use regular Tags for flights. You can follow the directions on the tags and stick them to your luggage handles. You can slide them into DCL Specific Luggage Tag Holders. Using Luggage Tag Holders reduces the risk of sticky tape left over on your suitcase handle.

If you need more tags, I suggest scanning and printing on card stock to have extra labels you need. I recommend printing them two next to each other. Cut them out and fold them over so the information shows on both sides.  If you don’t get tags then ask for Generic ones at the Port. The Porters will be happy to assist. You will just need to write your cabin number, name(s) and sail date on them.

Each ship will have their own specific color for tags. Here are the colors:

  • Magic – Green
  • Wonder – Orange
  • Dream – Blue
  • Fantasy - Purple
  • Wish – Maroon
  • Treasure – Yellow
  • Destiny – Lite Blue
  • Adventure – To Be Announced

Here is a picture of the different kinds of tags.

  2. Production Tag – Concierge (These will come in the mail)
  3. Production Tag – GTY (Guaranteed) (These will come in the mail)
  4. Generic Tag – Standard (Blank Tag you can get at the Port)
  5. Generic Tag – Concierge (Blank Tag you can get at the Port)
