What is the Difference Between the Royal Gathering and a Royal Tea on the Disney Cruise Ships?

What is the Difference Between the Royal Gathering

and a Royal Tea on the Disney Cruise Ships?

Royal Gathering:

The Royal Gathering is a ticketed event on Disney Cruise ships. This event is for any cruiser. You do not have to be a child or have a child with you to attend. The tickets are free, but you must book them before you sail. The tickets become available the day your Booking Window opens. (The date you can book your port and shipboard Adventures.) These tickets are highly sought after so make sure you get online as soon as possible when your Booking Window opens. You will need a ticket for each member of your travel party that wants to attend. Missed out on getting the ticket? Go talk to Guest Services once you are on the ship. Ask if there have been any cancellations or if they have opened any extra gatherings. If there are no available tickets they can put you on a wait list.

The event is really simple and fun for all Disney Princess fans. They will have several Disney Princesses gathered, usually in the Atrum Lobby. They will be spaced out with each Princess having their own personal photographer. You are allowed to get a quick autograph and photograph with each princess. If you do not purchase the photo package you can have the ship photographer, take a picture with your phone or camera. The entire event usually takes 15 minutes to go through and see all the princesses lined up. The line is usually no longer than 30 minutes. On longer cruises they may do several of these events. This event is available most sailings on all the Disney Ships.

Royal Tea:

The Royal Tea is also a ticketed event but this one costs, and is expensive. You must have a child 3-12 years old to attend this event. Children’s tickets are $220 per child and $69 for adults. One adult per child. It is a 90-minute event. This event is only offered on the Disney Magic, Disney Wonder, Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy ships. It is not offered on the Wish-Class Ships.
