Looking to Book a Disney Cruise? How do You Figure Out Which Ship do you Book??
There are several ways to choose which Disney Cruise to book. You can pick by Itinerary, ship design, special attractions or even shows. You can also look for a themed cruise, like Marvel day at Sea.
You can check out my previous blogs to see what is available
on each ship in each class. Do you want a waterslide that adults can enjoy?
Check out the Dream and Wish-Class ships. Shows? They all have Broadway caliber
shows. Look at my past blogs for each class and ship’s shows.
The Magic and Wonder, the Classic-Class are quickly coming
up on 30 years old. Who knows how long they will still sail? The average
lifespan of a Cruise ship is 30 years. So maybe you want to experience them
before they possibly leave. They are still the overall fan favorite of the
ships.
Do you want “Fancy dining” or dinner with a show? If you
prefer dinner and a show the Classic and Wish-Class ships have 2 restaurants
with shows and just one “Fancy” no show restaurant. Even the no show
restaurants are beautifully themed. The Dream-Class ships only have Animator’s
Palate with a show. The other restaurants are beautifully and the food is great
but for those of us who enjoy a show with the meal it is not as fun.
Dream-Class came up with the 1st ever watercoaster
at sea! The AquaDuck is a water powered coaster that takes you off the side of
the ship and down several decks. The Wish-Class “Plussed” the AquaDuck and
created the AquaMouse. The 1st ever Disney Dark Ride Attraction at
Sea!! AquaMouse is the AquaDuck with screens telling a story with special
effects to bring it to life!! Each ship in the Wish-Class has its own special
storyline for the attraction.
The Classic and Dream-Class ships are Nautical Themed and completely
charming and a true throwback to the great ocean crossing ships of the 1930/40’s.
The Wish-Class ships have their own personal theme. The Wish is themed after
Princesses. The Treasure is themed after Adventure. The Destiny is a mix of Hero
and Villains. The last 2 of the Wish-Class ships are not fully designed and the
theme has not been announced.
Unless you are just looking at where the ship goes,
itineraries, when booking there is a lot else to consider. Do you have a spouse
that does not think they would like Disney but the love Star Wars or Marvel?
Consider the Wish for the Star Wars fan and any of the Wish-Class ships for
your Marvel fanatic.
Do you have mobility issues?? I strongly recommend not
sailing on the Wish-Class ships. They do not have a elevator in the center of
the ship. The other ships have 3 sets of elevators, located forward, midship
and aft. Wish-Class has only forward and aft. If you are unable to use stairs
you and are in the middle of the ship, maybe the Grand Hall, you will have to
go forward or aft a 3rd of the ships length to go up or down. If you
are limited in the distance you can walk at any one time this can be an issue.
I have also seen pictures of accessible cabins with poles in the walkways
leading into the cabin. These are listed wheelchair accessible cabins. Balance the
pros and cons of what is offered on these ships vs the extra distances you will
have to navigate to get around.
Truly there is a Disney Cruise Ship for everybody. There is
lots to do for both kids and adults. If this is daunting to you, consider talking
to your trusted Travel Agent that specializes in Disney Cruises!
