What is Rotational Dining on the Disney Cruise LIne?
Disney Cruise Line
has a unique way of doing Main Dinner. Each of the Disney Cruise Ships has 3 Main
Dining Restaurants. All of the 4 original ships have one restaurant that is the
same, Animator’s Palate. The other two are different on each ship. That
information will be shared in a later post. The Disney Wish does not have
Animator’s Palate.
So, what exactly
is Rotational Dining? If you are on a 3-night cruise you will go into each Main
Restaurant once. If you are on a 4-Night cruise you will go into one of the
Main Restaurants a second time. On a 5-Night cruise you will go into 2 Restaurants
twice and 1 Restaurant once. On a 7-Night Cruise you will go into 2 Main
Restaurants three times and 1 twice.
Each restaurant
has a theme and some of them also have a show. Some have characters go through
the restaurant. There are also themed nights. On most Disney Cruises there is a
Pirate Night. The dinner is Pirate Themed. Your serving staff is dressed as
Pirates and many guests dress up in Pirate Gear to join the fun. On 7-Night and
longer there is also Formal and Simi Formal Nights. The Menu is a little
fancier and the staff is dressed appropriately. Guests can dress up if they
wish but it is NOT required.
What makes this
work so well is you will sit at the same numbered table and your servers will
follow you from restaurant to restaurant. The servers learn your food allergies,
needs and likes. They relate to each member of your family and add to the fun
of your trip.
You can order as many
of any course as you wish. If you wish 2 main courses, just ask. If don’t like
something you tried, ask for something else. It is all included in the price of
your cruise!! The only things you will pay for at dinner are the Drinks of the
Day, Alcohol, Specialty Coffee/Tea. Milk, Regular Coffee/Tea, Soda and Juice
are included at no extra charge.
