Disney Cruise Line SUGGESTED Gratuities
First off
let’s talk about why tip the Crew. I’ll break it down to each person it is
suggested you tip. Let me tell you what they do.
Stateroom Host:
On embarkation day, deep cleans your cabin before you arrive,
places any stateroom gifts in your cabin, finds and carries your bags to your
room, and in the evening turns down your bed, places a towelgomi on your bed
and sets up secondary beds if there are more than 2 guests in the cabin or 2
beds are requested. Every day they make the bed(s) every morning, clean the
room, replace used towels, makes sure you have any necessary bathroom supplies,
check the cabin mid-day to make sure you don’t need more Towles or supplies,
empties trash, refreshing as necessary. In the evening they turn down the
bed(s), leave candy and a towelgomi, checking trash and cleaning as necessary.
They also take your bags back to be taken to the port for you the final night
on the ship.
Dining Team:
Think of any high-end fine dining establishment that you pay $75+
per person for a meal. Would you tip $9.75 per person for that meal? Those
funds to be shared with your main server, their assistant, and the dining room manager?
With the service you get on the Disney Ships plus the comparable price for the
meal this is low. Most people tip 20% or more so it would be more like $15+ per
night PER PERSON. They are very aware of your allergies, special needs, and
preferences. They will advice you when something is not safe for you. They
honestly become part of your family. They go way beyond to make sure you are
happy with the food and service.
Disney Cruise Lines Suggested Gratuity:
Disney Suggests $14.50 per person in each cabin per day. This is
the amount is split between the 4 key people:
· Stateroom
Host - $4.75 per person/per day
· Dining
Room Server - $4.75 per person/per day
· Assistant
Dining Room Server - $3.75 per person/per day
· Dining
Room Server - $1.25 per person/per day
· Total Per
Person Per Night - $14.50
In the long run this is not much of a gratuity. If you were eating
at a find dining establishment, you would tip more. If you had the comparable
hotel room on land with the same service, you get from your stateroom host you
would most likely tip higher. If you choose you are more than welcome to tip
more. You can either go to Guest Services and add it to your account and it
will be given to the crew, or you can just put cash in the envelope they give
you. We always give more because the service we receive is always worth more.

on the length of the cruise:

$101.50 Per Person for the trip
Concierge Gusts Recommendation:
The basic recommendations are exactly as the regular stateroom
with the addition of adding $1 per day per person for the Assistant Stateroom
Host. This makes the final total $15.50 per person per day.
It is also suggested that Concierge guests add $8 per guest per
day for the Concierge Lounge Team (Concierge Managers and the Concierge
Servers). It is always up to the Guest to determine what they feel is
appropriate.
The Concierge Lounge Team also takes care of the Cabanas at
Castaway Cay, so you may want to add a little extra if they also care for you
there.
Prepaiding Gratuities:
You can add prepaid gratuities before you make your final payment
and then add more once on board. We feel this makes it easier to budget for
your trip. You don’t have to make sure you have the money at the end of the
trip to pay for it. We usually add more at the end of the trip.
Other Gratuities:
Pre-Paid Gratuities do not include the following
gratuities, which are either included in the charge or based on your discretion:
·
Extras added to rotational dining meals such as alcoholic beverages
·
Adult dining locations such as Remy, Palo Steakhouse and Enchante
by Chef Arnaud Lallement, which are not part of rotational dining
·
Food or drink in shops and outdoor or poolside eateries
·
Room service
·
Port Adventures
·
Senses Spa & Salon
·
Concierge Lounge Team – Guests staying in Concierge accommodations
are recommended a gratuity amount of $8 per-night, per stateroom Guest
·
Any other additional services
An 18% gratuity is automatically added to bar,
beverage, wine, deck services tabs and spa services. All gratuities can be
