HOW TO FIND YOUR WAY AROUND THE DISNEY SHIPS
This is for the
Magic/Wonder/Dream/Fantasy
The Wish is a
little different but generally the same. The Wish only has 2 sets of elevators
and the cabin area carpet is different.
Areas of the ship:
·
Forward
and Aft, Bow and Stern and Midship.
o
Forward/Bow
are the front of the ship.
o
Aft/Stern
are the back of the ship.
o
Midship
is the middle of the ship.
·
Port and
Starboard:
o Port is the Left Side of the ship if you
are facing Forward.
§
Easy
way to remember. Port has 4 letters and ends in T. Left has 4 letters and ends
in T.
o Starboard is the Right side of the ship if
you are facing Forward.
§
Easy
way to remember. Starboard - Second STAR to the RIGHT.
How
do you know if you are facing Forward? In the halls outside the cabins the
carpet will tell you if you are facing forward or aft. Look at the pattern. If
it is correctly oriented to you then you are forward. Upside down you are
facing the aft. If you are on the “Main Decks” like the Pool Deck, Decks 2, 3,
4, and 5 there are signs around the ship telling you. They are most prevalent at
the elevators.
There
are signs at and in every elevator telling you what decks things are on and if
the elevators are located Forward, Midship, and Aft. These signs tell you where
everything is as well as giving directions on that deck. On the Wish there are
2 sets of elevators. One forward one aft.
If
you are at a port that takes a Tender Boat to the ort, you will go to deck 1
forward or aft to get onto the boat. You take a Tender Boat to the Port if the
ship cannot pull up to the Dock. They will drop anchor offshore and smaller Tender
Boats come and get you. If the ship can
pull up to the Dock you will just walk out of the ship directly onto the Dock.
