DCL At Sea – In Case of Emergency
Are you leaving family or pets at home that you are concerned about? Wondering how they can reach you at Sea when your Cell Phones do not work at sea, or work with an exorbitant charges? Disney Cruise Line has your back!!!
Before you leave
give the following information to the people who need to reach you in an
emergency:
- Disney Cruise Line Emergency Number: 888-322-8732 – 888-DC-At-Sea
- Your Name as on the Reservation:
- Reservation Number:
- Ship Name:
- Stateroom:
- Sail Dates:
It is also wise to
give them your travel itinerary, such as your pre and post flight, and pre and
post hotel information along with the information about the cruise. You could
also give an itinerary of the cruise. If your cell provider covers Mexico and
Canada then many ports of call are covered by your plan. You can tell them to
call you on your cell phone when you are in port.
Disney Cruise Line
Guest Services staff will receive the call and contact you with the
information. The choice is then yours on how and when to respond. You can call
from your cabin and expect to be charged for the call, use your cell phone or
wait until you get to port. Many cell phone providers have packages that cover
out of the country calling.
You can call from
the ship using your cell phone provider and the ships Cellular At Sea
connections. This can cost $5-$10 per minute and you will be charged by your
cell phone provider. It is about the same to call from your cabin phone. Either
way tell those at home to only call in a real emergency and to leave a detailed
message so you know how to respond.
There is another
way to handle this. You can pay for internet and check your email several times
per day. This can be somewhat costly, and you have to wonder if all emails come
through. The internet is spotty at best.
In the past we
were caring for our elderly parents and it gave us peace of mind to know we
could be reached if there was an emergency. Does not matter if it is a pet,
child, or an elderly parent it is good to have that connection.
