2012 Is
Ending Welcome 2013
and
Limited Time Magic!
2012
brought many changes at the DLR resort and more than a few at WDW as well. Over
all I say the changes were good. I can only speak of WDW in theory because I’ve
only been there once and that was 8 years ago.
The
new Fantasyland at MK looks amazing and I’m excited to check it out in a couple
of years. That is all I can say about WDW but I know more has happened there
At DLR the
majority of changes happened at DCA with the addition of Cars Land, retheming
of the entry area to Buena Vista Street and the completion of 5 years of retheming
of rides and addition several new rides/attractions. New shows and parades
completed the change.
While
the New Year is not scheduled to have any new rides or attractions at DLR there
are changes. Some changes are for the better some not so good.
For
the better it is rumored that Candlelight at DL will be expanded to 30 nights!
For the downside of this, they are talking of moving the show INSIDE forcing a
huge reduction to the number of choir members used in the show. I can see it
going from the current 600 singers down to 100 if they take it inside. Also
they will charge to see the show. Price and location is unknown as of yet.
Locations rumored are the Fantasyland Theater in DL and the Hyperion Theater in
DCA. Neither have stages large enough for a choir the current size of the Candlelight
Choir. Neither would be where Walt wanted the show being done.
2013 is bringing some fun with
different special events scheduled through the year. These special events are
called Limited Time Magic and will last one day to several weekss. They will be
doing a revival show in the Golden Horseshoe. This is good but has a problem.
This will be a show like the original Wally Boag Western Comedy show but will
not have a comedian. It will have the Can-Can Girls, music and dancing. So this
will not be a true revival show. Also you will need to get a Fastpass type
ticket for the show.
More paid private party events like
the Mickey’s Halloween Party are being planned. Rumors say Disneyland will
close early for Christmas Party night and only those who pay to go can see the
Christmas Fireworks.
I suggest you keep your eyes open
for the changes and for the Limited Time Magic. Check the Disney Parks Blog and
the Official Disney Limited Time Magic website for updates on the special
Limited Time events.
