Disney Adventure is on her Maiden Voyage

Disney Adventure is on her Maiden Voyage

Disney Adventure is on her Maiden Voyage. She left Singapore yesterday. Adventure will do 3-4-Night cruise at sea with no port stops.

Robert Downey, Jr is the God Parent of the Disney Adventure. Check out the video announcement!

The history of the Disney Adventure is long. She will be a one-of-a-kind ship for DCL. She is the 8th and also the largest ship in the Disney Fleet! She will carry 6,700 guests and be the destination, not ports.

Adventure started out as a ship being built for the Chinese, Genting Hong Kong Dream Cruise Line. Ordered in 2016 with the keel laying on Sept 11, 2018. Her given name at that time was Global Dream. Then Covid-19 hit. Star Cruise Line was not able to survive the covid pandemic. The shipyard building her also went bankrupt. Disney Cruise Line came in in 2022 and purchased the ¾ built ship that was about to be sold for scrap. DCL paid pennies on the dollar then spent a reported 1.8 billion to purchase and reimagine her to be a Disney ship. Adventure was to be launched in December of 2025 but failed her sea trials and was not up to Disney standards. Disney changed the Maiden Voyage date to March 10th, 2026 to give time to bring her up to standards.

Adventure will be more of a floating amusement park/hotel than a cruise ship. She has the longest rollercoaster at sea along with 2 other amusement park type rides. It has 7 themed districts and even has balcony cabins facing into the courtyards.

The classic service and style of DCL will continue with Rotational Dining. Instead of 3 restaurants there are 6. There is Hollywood Spotlight Club and Navigators Club. You will go to one of these restaurants. You will also go to either Animator’s Palate or Animator’s Table. Enchanted Summer Restaurant inspired by Tangled and Frozen or Pixar Market Restaurant will be the 3rd set of restaurants you will go to. You can check the Disney Cruise website for more information on the individual restaurants.
