This ensued a
project to start a foundation to manage the barn. The Carolwood Foundation was
formed to protect and manage the Barn. The Barn was moved to the Los Angeles
Live Steamers Museum in Griffith Park, Ca. Walt had been a member of the Los
Angeles Live Steamers Club that operates the small scale train museum next door
to Travel Town in Griffith Park just a short distance away from where the
Griffith Park Merry-Go-Round is located. This is the Merry-Go-Round that Walt
sat watching his girls ride and dreamed of a place where families could play
together.
Walt’s Barn is
only opened the 3rd Sunday of every month, 11 am -3 pm.
Ward Kimball is remembered at Walt's Barn with many of his items on display. |
