Donnie Dunagan:

Donnie Dunagan was the voice of Young Bambi.

Donald "Donnie" Roan Dunagan (born August 16, 1934) is a semi-retired American former child actor and United States Marine Corps drill instructor. He was a voice actor in the Bambi film, providing the voice of Young Bambi. A 28-page interview, his first after decades as a "lost Hollywood player," can be found in the book "Earth vs. the Sci-Fi Filmmakers" (Jefferson NC: McFarland & Co., 2006) by Tom Weaver.

Biography for Donnie Dunagan

Dunagan was born in San Antonio, Texas, but his family soon moved to Memphis, Tennessee, where they struggled with poverty. There at the age of three-and-a-half he won a talent contest prize of $100. Spotted by a studio talent scout, the family moved to Hollywood, where Dunagan appeared in a series of films  and soon became his family's main breadwinner. His career ended after he provided the voice for the young fawn in Walt Disney's Bambi. By the age of 13, Dunagan was living in a boarding house and working as a lathe operator. In 1952, at the age of 18, he enlisted in the Marine Corps. He became the Marine's youngest-ever drill instructor and served three tours in Vietnam, where he was wounded several times, before finally retiring in 1977 with the rank of Major.

Hardie Albright:

Hardie Albright was the Adolescent Bambi voice, uncredited.

Hardie Albright (December 16, 1903 – December 7, 1975) was an American actor and the son of travelling vaudevillians.

Born as Hardie Hunter Albrecht, he made his stage debut in one of his parents' acts at the age of 7.

Albright was playing the juvenile lead on the stage in The Greeks when a scout from the Fox Company saw him. He was given a contract and headed for Hollywood. An alumnus of Carnegie Tech, Albright made his film debut in 1931 in John G. Blystone's Young Sinners. He appeared in numerous films after that, including as the voice of the adolescent Bambi in the film of the same name. He also became a noted Broadway actor.

He retired from film acting in 1948 and became a drama instructor at USC, writing several books on acting and directing during his time there.

During the 1960s he made many guest appearances on television series such as Bewitched and Gonsmoke.

On December 7, 1975, just nine days shy of his 72nd birthday, Albright died from congestive heart failure in Mission Viejo, California. He was survived by his daughter Victoria from his first marriage to wife Martha Sleeper.

John Sutherland:

John Sutherland, 9/11/1910 – 2/17/2001 was the voice of Adult Bambi. This was the only acting job for John Sutherland. He was a Producer, Writer and Director. His main focus was industrial and educational films.
